0000441: conf file cannot be changed on the fly
Hello -

using aMule 2.0.1 on Linux

I have been using aMule for quite a while, however there is no information on the aMule.conf file - on the web site, on the docs with the sources, etc. Wouldn't it better to provide the sources with aMule.conf.sample with comments? For instance - how should one configure the notifier with sound? where to write the program which should play? couldn' t these options be on the GUI? As well as those for the preview player?

Besides that, the aMule.conf file cannot be changed on the fly. If we change it with a text editor, it is overwritten by aMule itself after a few moments. Changes only stay if editing the file when aMule is not running...

Apparently, aMule *should* have a preferences option called "notifications". This is missing in my aMule... is it always missing in Linux or is it a bug?

It's not implemented yet.

About changing it on the fly... there's no way.

Closing. There's really nothing to fix here, the file is not meant to be changed through anything but the prefs-dialog. If an option is not available through the GUI, then it hasn't been implemented, though the these "missing" options are no longer written to the conf-file to avoid confusion.
